FAQ

What do you mean by "available for a limited time?"

CocoLoco Chocolates are produced only twice a year -- during the Easter/Passover season in the spring, and during the Thanksgiving/Christmas/Hannukah season in the late fall and early winter. Our spring collection is available from mid-February through Easter Sunday (variable date each year), and our winter collection is available from early November through Christmas, December 25. Also, our product lines for the two seasons are different (with a little overlap….), so items that are available now, may not be available again until this time next year.

What is the ordering deadline for Easter?

Orders must be placed by midnight on Saturday, March 19 for delivery by Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016.

How are the chocolates packaged?

CocoLoco Chocolate Bonbons are individually wrapped in foil and sold as a set of four bonbons packaged in a clear box. The Mystery Box is an assortment of 12 foil-wrapped chocolate bonbons, packaged in a clear box tied with a white satin ribbon.  The Double Pretzels and Chocolate Eggs are sold individually and are packaged in a clear, cellophane bag, tied with an orange bow.

The chocolates seem expensive. Are they?

No, not really. Our chocolates are made exclusively by hand (very labor-intensive), using high quality ingredients. They are not sold by the pound, but the prices per pound for our products are as follows: Double Pretzels for $24/pound; Marshmallow Bonbons for $32/pound; Chocolate Bonbons for $34/pound; and Chocolate Eggs for $34/pound. For comparison, Fannie May chocolate assortments are priced at $25 to $30 per pound. And the only handmade product that Fannie May sells is a box of artisan truffles that weighs 3.4 ounces and retails for $25. Our handmade, artisan Raspberry Truffle Cream Bonbons weigh the same as the Fannie May truffles and retail for $7.95.

How long will my chocolates last?

If you are asking about shelf life, that information is included with the description of each product on the product page, and on the label of each product. We don't use preservatives in our chocolates, so shelf life ranges from 30 days to 9 months. If you are asking about savoring your chocolates and "making them last", you may be hard pressed to make them last very long once you take a bite and discover how wonderfully delicious they are!

How quickly will my order ship?

We ship orders out on Monday through Wednesday each week, in order to minimize orders sitting in a warehouse over the weekend. Generally, your order will ship the Monday after you place it.  We ship via USPS Priority Mail from Massachusetts, so orders to the East Coast will arrive in 1-2 days, to the Midwest in 3-4 days, and to the West Coast in 5-6 days.

Can I order now and have you delay shipment until closer to a holiday or special occasion?

Yes, you sure can. Simply select "Please delay my shipment" in your shopping cart before you check out, and specify when you want your chocolates to arrive.

Do you ship to other countries?

No. Due to the perishable nature of our chocolates, we are not able to ship them outside the U.S.
